Central West

The Central West Region of the Knowledge Connector, spans from just south of Edmonton in the north to Okotoks in the south, to Banff in the West and all the communities in-between! Although the region looks small it probably holds well over half of Alberta’s rural population. Although Alberta in general is famous for its rodeos, two of the most famous rodeos in the country are held in this region; the World Famous and iconic Calgary Stampede and the nationally important Ponoka Stampede. However you cannot end a description of this region without mentioning another world famous place and the birthplace of Canada’s first national park, Banff!
